Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls

Welcome to Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls.  If you love the work of Tim Burton, and enjoyed the challenges over at The Burtonesque Dolls then you'll like it here.  All the forthcoming challenges will have a 'Burtonesque' feel to them, although they may have no direct link to the works of Tim Burton.  The whole idea of this blog is to widen the challenges, maybe introduce you to films, books and directors that you've not heard of before. It's all about fun, maybe a little quirky and twisted fun, but still fun.

For our first challenge we have chosen a very broad theme;

'Halloween' we want you to create a card/project inspired by your favourite Halloween film, book or memory.

You can use images from any company you wish, and you can create a digital project if you wish,
it's all for fun, so no limitations,
just make sure you respect the copyright of the artists out there.

Don't forget to tell us what inspired your creation,
that's all part of the fun.
My creation was inspired by a Halloween childhood memory.
Every year my mom would put a paper skeleton on our front door
and I was really scared of him at night. I told my mom
that I could hear him talking to me.
I was afraid he would come and get me. That skeleton
started my love for anything fun and cute Halloween
but nothing too scary.

Here he is...
The skeleton is from an awesome Tim Holtz set by
Stampers Anonymous. Retro Halloween.

Can't wait to see your scary or not so scary creations.

You are open to create any type of project with the set guidelines.

My Villain is the Famous Medusa of Greek Mythology.
Make it Crafty has a Mini Medusa that I chose to use.
She is creepy and cute at the same time.

She is colored with Copics and her scales have a coat of
Diamond Stickles. I wanted to create a snake skin like background,

Blast from the Past with Kraftin' Kimmie

Hello Blogland!
Today I am playing along with Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps
Blast from the Past Challenge.
The Challenge is to use your very first Kraftin' Kimmie stamp.
My very first KK stamp was of course a Halloween stamp.
About a year ago I found KK stamps and was immediately drawn to
Artist Annie Rodrigue's fun Moonlight Whispers collection.
My very first purchase was the whole Halloween collection
and Zelda the Zombie is one of my favorites within
the collection. So here she is....

I colored Zelda with Prismacolor pencils on Kraft paper
using a technique I found on Angela's Blog but I think
I need some more practice. It was fun and I wanted to
try something new. Thanks for looking!
