Scary Halloween!

As many of you know, I love Halloween and it's coming faster
than I have time to create. Soon it will be over :(
But until then we have a fun challenge this week
Scary Halloween!!!

Now I don't find any of Sweet Pea Stamps to be really scary
and that is good because I really perfer
fun Halloween.

I used Wicked Moon by Katerina Koukiotis
And the card design was kind of a case of
Cheryl's  Tiddly Ink's Halloween card.
I just loved her use of googly eyes.
Thanks Cheryl!

Can't wait to see your scary creations!
Happy Halloween!

Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls

Welcome to Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls.  If you love the work of Tim Burton, and enjoyed the challenges over at The Burtonesque Dolls then you'll like it here.  All the forthcoming challenges will have a 'Burtonesque' feel to them, although they may have no direct link to the works of Tim Burton.  The whole idea of this blog is to widen the challenges, maybe introduce you to films, books and directors that you've not heard of before. It's all about fun, maybe a little quirky and twisted fun, but still fun.

For our first challenge we have chosen a very broad theme;

'Halloween' we want you to create a card/project inspired by your favourite Halloween film, book or memory.

You can use images from any company you wish, and you can create a digital project if you wish,
it's all for fun, so no limitations,
just make sure you respect the copyright of the artists out there.

Don't forget to tell us what inspired your creation,
that's all part of the fun.
My creation was inspired by a Halloween childhood memory.
Every year my mom would put a paper skeleton on our front door
and I was really scared of him at night. I told my mom
that I could hear him talking to me.
I was afraid he would come and get me. That skeleton
started my love for anything fun and cute Halloween
but nothing too scary.

Here he is...
The skeleton is from an awesome Tim Holtz set by
Stampers Anonymous. Retro Halloween.

Can't wait to see your scary or not so scary creations.

Twinkle, twinkle...

Little Bat! I know, I know it's the dormouse's line not the Hatter's but I was dying to use this image from The Octopode Factory. I wanted to use it for The Burtonesque Dolls challenge this week and thought he would look great Burtonized! I altered his hair to make him a bit more Johnny like. I also wanted to do a Oh, Alice! challenge since I have not done that in awhile and I almost missed out on Halloween in Wonderland! GASP! But don't worry I got it in just in time. Enjoy!

On the 12th Day of Halloween...

My Ghoul Love gave to me 12 Witches Cackling! Can you believe Halloween is over :( and so is the 12 Days of Halloween Challenge.

I left the best for last, Witch Betty of course! I created a 12 Days of Halloween box to hold all my creations for the challenge. My original design was going to include the 12 days poem but my computer decided to crash yesterday so had to change it up a bit. When you open the lid and see Witch Betty you hear a ghoulish cackle coming form the box, courtesy of a cackling coffin I placed on the bottom of the box. All and all I was pleased how it turned out. Hope you enjoyed it!

Halloween Time at Disneyland!

I'm back from a few days at Disneyland, on friday night we went trick or treating at Disneyland! This is the 5th year that Disney has offered it, and it has become an annual event for me. This year we went all out and dressed up, as characters from TB's Alice. I actually remembered my camera and extra batteries but of course I forgot the extra batteries in the room, so I only got a few pictures. My Aunt got some to though.

Mom as the Mad Hatter and me as The Red Queen

Mom as the Mad Hatter and family friend Sylvia as the Mad Hatter's Sister

We ran into some other Mad Hatters

Candid shot. My Godson Sebastion was the March Hare but his ears and nose kept falling off. My mom made all the costumes, except for my big red head and her hat. Everyone kept commenting on how good our costume's looked and lots of people asked to take pictures with us! I couldn't believe it! It was soooo much fun!

Me with Jack and Sally!!!! I was grinning like a little kid and to shy to say anything to Jack!

Mom with Jack and Sally

We all had a great time! I can't wait for next year, who should I be next year? Thanks for Looking!!!

On the 7th Day of Halloween...

My ghoul love gave to me 7 Skelington Heads! It's Day seven of the 12 Days of Halloween Challenge at Simply Betty Stamps. Today the challenge is to create your project using Jack Skellington or any skeleton! Of course Jack being my favorite I had to use him! I found this image of Jack online and thought it was perfect. I really had to hold back and not put any glitter or do dads on the card, I just wanted to showcase Jack. I find the card very boring, let me know what you think.

Hopefully I will not miss out on day 8 as I will be at Disneyland for the next couple of days. It's Halloween time at Disneyland!!!! Plus the whole family is dressing up for Disneyland Trick or Treating on Friday night! I am going as Burton's Red Queen, we have a Alice theme going. I will post pictures so you can see our craziness. Thanks for looking!
